Sheldon Chumir Internship [Click here to apply]

A nine-month $40,000 internship for the Sheldon Chumir foundation.

The Sheldon Chumir foundation was founded by the late Sheldon Chumir. Sheldon Chumir was one of the first Liberals elected in Calgary for the Alberta Liberal Party in their resurgence in the mid-1980s, earning election and then re-election as he championed human rights, the disabled, and Albertans. You can read more about Sheldon Chumir on the foundation’s website here, along with his amazing mission that has continued his life of leadership long past his death.

STEP Internships

The STEP internship program was cancelled by the Progressive Conservatives in 2013. It was a program for youth seeking summer employment in non-profits, legislative offices, and for an innumerable organizations throughout Alberta. The internships that were traditionally available was a summer internship with a Member of Legislative Assembly office in Calgary.

Young Liberal of Canada Internship [Click here to apply]

Every year the Young Liberals of Canada place fellow Young Liberals in the Liberal Party of Canada Headquarters, or in Senate and MP offices. These are paid internships. Summer interns will have weekly sessions on fundraising, effective campaigning and phone banking, campaign literature, pre-writ management, as well as educational and recreational trips in the Ottawa area.
